Not Offered at this Time: Absolute Beginner: 10:15 am - 11:00 am beginning technique/flamenco basics fee: $35 / month of four classes $15/single class Fun flamenco for beginners and an excellent technique builder for those who have already begun to embrace flamenco as dance, as healing, as self-expression, as a way of life! This class builds a foundation, appropriate for new beginners. Focus on techniques specific to flamenco such as compás, braceo or arm movement, footwork, floreo or hand movement, and palmas, along with universal dance techniques in working correctly, body line and posture, and interpretation.

Open to all levels: This class includes the elements of Beginning Flamenco.
In addition, we will focus on development of understanding and skill in the art. Awareness of compas, increasing artistry in braceo, taconeo, floreo, and palmas. Always integrated improvement in alignment and interpretation! Intermediate technique in flamenco with increased complexity of choreography and emphasis on interpretation of various palos.

It isn't necessary to purchase special shoes or clothing before trying flamenco. A skirt, as you choose, and low heeled shoes for all people, are just fine! We are here to assist if you wish to purchase shoes or boots, and other flamenco clothing and accessories. Castanets are available through the studio to use in class or to buy.
